Doesn’t it seem like sunny summer days (like this Devil’s Lake e-sesh) are a thing of the past?
Thankfully, summer returns without fail every year, so it’s time to start planning for this year’s adventures!
Every time I’ve visited the park, cell service is extremely limited.
If you’re planning on meeting up with a friend, photog or clients, make plans for where to park and where to meetup in advance.
Limited wifi is available near the North Chateau if needed, but I recommend using this as a time to disconnect.
It’s common for the main parking lots to fill up early. You can arrive early to snag front row parking or be ready for a little walk from your car to the beach.
You’ll need a valid admissions pass. This means you’ll have to display either a yearly WI parks sticker or should plan to purchase a daily parks pass upon entering.
You can find more information on current rates and passes here.
Devil’s Lake is home to roughly 29 miles of hiking trails. Some are paved and flat with easy access, while others involve a steeper climb, but boast views worth the extra effort.
You can ask for a park map when you enter or check out the Devil’s Lake State Park area visitor guide online for more info on each hiking trail.
This is my favorite thing to do when I visit!
Although there are no campgrounds near the lake’s actual shoreline, Devil’s Lake is home to 3 campgrounds.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Sweet, let’s reserve a campsite when we get there!” I’m going to stop you right there.
Even though 3 campgrounds sounds like a lot, Devil’s Lake is the most popular state park in WI. Camping fills up quickly, so I strongly recommend reserving your spot well in advance.
