Two of my favorite things:
These cuties did both!
For their engagement session, Jackie & Matt decided to rent a little cabin and spend the weekend at the north shore. Because on a normal weekend, you can often find these two with their pups, going on hikes, camping, or at a cabin together.
So naturally, we started our session at the cabin they rented with a couple of cold brews around a campfire! It honestly felt like a crisp fall day enjoying the fresh air – even though it was really the springtime.
Because this is something Jackie & Matt would naturally do, it made it super fun, easy, and personal to take photos of – it’s nothing they had to fake, or pretend they’d do in real life. Drinking around a campfire with their dogs came naturally, which made for THE best & most special engagement photos!
After we finished up our time at the fire together, we ventured out to a super pretty black sand beach in the area. We ran around with their dogs, Jackie rocked the most gorgeous bright red dress with a simple light brown hat, while Matt kept it simple with a tan shirt & dark pants. Talk about a stylish, naturally good lookin’ couple, am I right?
I’m so happy that these babes turned their engagement session into a mini vacay & a whole experience, rather than just a couple of hours. It makes the whole experience more personal + you’re able to create more memories together, and I just love documenting that for my couples!
So if you haven’t yet considered a mini vacation (or a stay-cation) for your engagement sesh, I highly recommend doing it 😉
If you’re feeling inspired & are considering having your engagement photos done on the north shore like Jackie & Matt, here are a few cozy, nearby places to stay at & make a little trip out of! You could even bring a few friends along for a fun trip together 🙂

branding photos, but make them magnetic.
