Planning a Beautiful Marriage

I send out a wedding day questionnaire for all of my couples.  This helps me figure out what important details to focus on and gives me insight into what memories that couple will value the most on their big day.  Asking questions is a stepping stone to serving my clients better.

Where one couple might place an emphasis on handmade centerpieces, another might place the value of photos of their guests playing yard games and celebrating at the top of their list.

When I received Brent + Sohyun’s questionnaire, I was incredibly drawn to one answer.

What was your favorite part of the planning process? “Finding my groom.” -Sohyun

Every heartbreak and failed relationship has gotten you one step closer to finding your groom.  If you’re curled up in puddle on the couch right now and you feel like Mr. Right is never coming, I can’t sit here and promise you that he is.  What I can do, is tell you that everything you go through in your life, good and bad, will bring you to wherever you’re supposed to be.

On the other hand – If you’re reading this and you’re in the process of planning your wedding, I have another piece of advice for you.  Re-read Sohyun’s answer.  She is focusing on the journey and the relationship as a whole.

This bride really gets it.

There’s no shame in being excited about your flowers or cake.  Just remember to stop and take a look at the bigger picture throughout the planning process.   Pay attention to the important moments and milestones that are right in front of you.
